Feline Leukemia Vaccine- Feline Leukemia is a serious illness which can be fatal and is transferred through the contact of an infected cats bodily fluid.  We recommend that all kittens receive the Feline Leukemia vaccine series and any cats that go outside continue with boosters every 2 years life-long.

FIV/FeLV Screening- (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus/ Feline Leukemia Virus)  This important screening is recommended for all kittens and any adult cats with exposure to other felines of unknown viral status.  This screening is also a requirement for hospitalization in our facility to determine proper safe handling and limit potential transfer of these serious, and potentially fatal, illnesses.

Internal Parasite Screening- We recommend screening every 6 months to be sure that your cat is free of internal parasites, as suggested by the Companion Animal Parasite Council, to look for parasites that could be transmitted to humans.  This involves taking a sample of fecal matter and sending it to the laboratory for comprehensive testing.  With routine screening, we can be sure that we are detecting infection early and treating when appropriate.

Healthy Pet Bloodwork- We recommend annual Healthy Pet Bloodwork for adult cats.  This is a blood screening that helps measure what we cannot see, feel, or hear on physical examination alone to be sure that your pet maintains optimal health.

Heartworm Prevention- We recommend year-round heartworm prevention for all cats.  We offer Heartgard Feline chewable prevention given every 30 days.  We also offer Feline Revolution, which is a topical heartworm and flea prevention applied every 30 days.

Flea/Tick Prevention-  We recommend that all cats be on year-round flea prevention.  We offer Feline Revolution, which is a topical heartworm and flea prevention applied every 30 days.  For cats who go outside, we also recommend Bravecto, a topical flea/tick prevention applied every 90 days.

Microchip Identification- Lost pets who have microchip identification are 20 times more likely to return to their homes.  We recommend that all pets have this identification administered.  The process includes having a microchip injected into their skin, which then can be scanned to obtain information on returning them to their homes.  Many cats with have this identification administered as a kitten, however, it can be performed at any age.
